Tweeting Social Stuff

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

I had the joy of presenting Tweeting Social Stuff at the 14th Annual Youth Perspectives Conference with Marketing magazine yesterday in a morning workshop entitled: Digi Savvy Youth: Social Networks & Twitter in Focus. I tag-teamed with the delightful Graeme Ford from Phones 4U who gave the inside track on how they have developed their social media presence and a candid assessment of the highs and lows. Graeme’s content is at the half-way point of the slideshare deck.  Mine is the usual mix of digital fun, sweary videos and hopefully some interesting content on Twitter and some of our case studies from Samsung and Activision.

Carla from Haymarket did a bit of live tweeting & you can track that & others thoughts on the #youthconf search.

As always, the deck is available for download to enjoy, re-use, re-purpose but be a good interweb citizen and give credit where it’s due.

ROCKIN’ ROADIE

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Check out these hot new banners promoting the new Guitar Hero World Tour game, being launched by Activision on 14 November 2008.

The state-of-the-art interactive banners employ live-action video to bring the Roadie character to life, and in doing so achieve awesome page standout. Five by Five combined shooting the character interacting with both the viewer and the game instruments to get across the playability and scope of the new game. Interactive Flash elements of the game’s features also explain how the game works.

The banners are being seeded across a variety of sites for limited periods in the lead up to the launch. Pre-orders have rocketed since the online campaign started.

Check out The Sun only on Friday 7 November http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/

Release your rock star!

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Five by Five have just launched an online campaign for Guitar Hero Rock Icon with gaming publisher Activision.

The purpose of the site is to provide the community with an environment where they can share the fun of Guitar Hero. Five by Five developed a fantastic competition site that allows a user to upload a video of themselves rockin out and be displayed within the video gallery. There is a backend CMS system that allows moderators to vet and edit the videos into a montage of user generated content.

The site also includes a blog, competition details for a money cant buy prize, and game information on Guitar Hero Legends of Rock.

The site was launched with a viral movie along with traffic drivers including online PR, banner advertising and email marketing. If you are a secret rocker why not enter one yourself - www.releaseyourrockstar.com
