Campaign Team hit the Ice!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

After a massively busy pre Christmas rush, including the delivery of 635 banner ads across 11 territories in 8 weeks for games publisher Activision. The campaign team went out for a well deserved night out. Ice skating and mulled wine for all - we have the evidence to prove it!

Balls to last.fm

Monday, January 14th, 2008

I have just seen a blog post from the guys at last.fm which left me thinking back to the old days of the dot-com boom. The guys decided, over a couple of drinks, that’d be a great idea to fill a meeting room up with the types of balls you’d find in a ball pit in Butlins! All I can say guys is I salute you and do you have any tips I can use to persuade my boss this is a good use of resource ;-)

Why we live in Southampton - Vindication!

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Up to this point Southampton has been famous for five things…

1. Boats that almost make it to New York.
2. WWII fighters with cool names.
3. All the nice green and watery stuff that surrounds it.
4. A shorter commute into London than the commute for Londoners.
5. And us, naturally!

But now a specially commissioned survey of the 15 largest cities in the UK reconfirms what we knew all along - Southampton is a pretty cool place to be stranded. Men’s Health Magazine compared the cities in a number of categories, using 3 or 4 criteria in each case to draw up rankings. In these rankings Southampton was both the greenest and most hard-working city in the UK, and also the second fittest city behind London. Overall Southampton was…

1st Greenest City
1st Most Hard Working
2nd Fittest
2nd Least Dangerous
3rd Thinnest
5th Least Boozy
6th Cleanest
8th Sexiest

On the downside we were also the third most expensive city to live in, the second least sex-obsessed (not sure if that’s a good thing or not?) and also the 2nd worse city for single men. However, that must mean that we’re also 2nd best city for single women!

Overall it just goes to show why we’re all here in the first place, and why I….umm…live in Christchurch?!

The PS3 backlash has started, is it justified?

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Industry/fan site UK Resitance has already started running its slander campaign on the PS3, what are your thoughts on the price and Sony’s claim that this is the machine that is all about convergence. Email me at mark.cox@fivebyfivedigital.com or leave a comment.

The Balad of Black Mesa. The Half Life 2 engine, a kick ass sound track and a great parody of the iPOD ad! I bow down to the genius!
